Division
Helicopter
Underwater Escape Training
with EBS (Passenger)
This course is designed
to provide all personnel traveling by helicopter with
a general understanding of safety and survival procedures
during normal flight operations as well as emergency situations.
Through lectures and practical exercises students will
gain the knowledge, skill and practical experience required
to enable them to access and egress helicopters safely,
including the ability to carry out an underwater egress
from the Helicopter Simulator. The Simulator training
gives the instructor a chance to assess the students level
of competence through a series of realistic exercises
conducted in a controlled and safe environment. All exercises
are conducted using an Emergency Breathing System (EBS).
This course meets the
requirements as defined by the Offshore Petroleum Training
Organization (OPITO) for Helicopter Safety and Escape Training.
